Solomon's vast arrayed home was not built solo.  He had the support of gifted individuals and together they completed Solomon's house. Today, Pastor Jeff relates this to the body of Christ, which is made up of many individuals with many gifts.  And according to the scriptures, these gifts are to be used to edify, equip, and build up the body of Christ.

1 Kings, Chapter 7 records the building process of Solomon's house. Full of elaborate details, Solomon's house was vast and beautiful. But behind the beauty was 13-years of building and hard work. Today, we continue our study entitled "A Spiritual House" and Pastor Jeff reminds us of the work God is doing in each one of us. And though we may be in the midst of a trial and tribulation, we must remember that God sees the end result; it is one of beauty and perfection.

In 2 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 16, it says "we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people." This passage of scripture makes clear, that the temple of God is not a building, but it consists of a people, and not just any people, but of believers and followers of Jesus Christ.  More on this today as Pastor Jeff concludes the message "The House That Man Built" on Sound Doctrine.

There's some truth to the old saying "Father knows best," especially when we have a Heavenly Father who Loves and cares for us.  Sadly, we sometimes fall into the trap of believing we can do things our way, and not Gods.  Today, we begin a study in 1 Kings chapter 6, and learn the steps Solomon took in building Gods Temple.  But will the outcome be a house that God built?  Or a man made house?

Although Solomon built a vast temple for God, his heart was not fully commited to Him.  As we conclude our study "Solomon, The Leader, & Builder," Pastor Jeff reminds us that "God doesn't dwell in buildings made by hands, but he dwells within believers."  And the Bible says, when Christ lives in us, "we are the temple of the living God."  Does God dwell within you?
