We can all learn from the example of Paul. No matter what circumstances he was in, Paul praised the Lord. Pastor Jeff encourages us to remember that the Lord is teaching us lessons through good and bad situations alike. Remember Paul’s words in Philippians 1:12: “what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.”

There are several types of prayer in Ephesians, but intercessory is one of the most important! As we begin part two of our study on praying for others, Pastor Jeff shows us many passages asking believers to pray specifically on someone else’s behalf. Are you weak when it comes to prayer? Sometimes we find ourselves stumped in the face of prayer. We don’t know how to ask the Lord for the things we need. But all we have to do is come humbly before Him. He will give us the words to say, and He will provide everything we need.

Why is praying in the Spirit so important? Well, for one, prayer is the way that we communicate with our heavenly Father. Prayer is part of our armor, and it is also our most powerful weapon! Without dedicated prayer, we cannot hope to overcome our enemy.

If you commit to spending time in the Word, God will give you the wisdom to use it. Don’t let sin keep you from the Scriptures. David said, “Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.” Let that be our prayer.

We know that God’s Word is supposed to be our weapon against spiritual warfare — but how? As we get into part two of our study on the Sword of the Spirit, Pastor Jeff explains exactly how the Scriptures function as a weapon against Satan.
