Christians have been given the task of ministering the world by sharing the Gospel to everyone. The Apostle Paul was a driven person, and he went through great hardship to see the Gospel spread. How many of us would put ourselves in a position like Paul, to see the Gospel spread to untouched regions? Pastor Jeff is exhorting us today to strive to fulfill the ministry God has placed us in. This is the second half to the study titled, “Success in the Ministry.”

The world has a mentality in order to be successful you gotta step on people to get ahead. However for the Christian, success in ministry is obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul was mighty in the ministry because he was sensitive to Gods guiding. This practical and yet often difficult practice for us, because of self-dependency. Pastor Jeff is in Romans chapter 15 beginning at verse 17, in the study titled, “Success in the Ministry.”

The word ministry means service, or rather to serve others. Jesus gave us the greatest example of this. Pastor Jeff is teaching from Romans chapter 15, and we are learning that the Apostle Paul also ministered wherever God placed him. The same should be true for us as well. Because when we have done it to the least of them, we have done it unto Christ. This is the second half and conclusion of the study titled, “Our Ministry.”

As believers we all have received a ministry. Matthew Henry said, “"The joy of the Lord will arm us against the assaults of our spiritual enemies and put our mouths out of taste for those pleasures with which the tempter baits his hooks." This statement is so true. Having the joy of the Lord makes us detest the pleasure of the world, that are fleeting. It’s only in Jesus Christ that joy and peace will be attained. Pastor Jeff wraps up his study titled, “Hope, Joy and Peace” from Romans chapter 15.

The early church was constantly reminded by Paul, and the other Apostles, to keep their eyes looking up for the return of Jesus Christ. This caused a great work to go out, and joy and peace to enter in. Do you lack peace in your heart? Is joy gone in your walk? Well today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff will encourage you to look up, because your redemption draws near. This is the second half of the study titled, “Hope, Joy and Peace.”
