We can't possibly go even one day without sinning. If we were forced to live according to the Law, we could never survive. Our sins would bring us certain death. However, through His mercy, God forgives all our sins and removes them as far as the east is from the west.

Sadly, there are many sincere individuals who seek to spread the gospel, but they are misled. Many cults even claim to know Jesus Christ. John Calvin once said, "Zeal without knowledge is like a sword in the hand of a fool." These groups believe in their causes, but they are deceived. We need to be careful not to fall prey to these false prophets.

God gives us the responsiblility of sharing His good news with those around us. Don't underestimate the power of your personal testimony on other people's lives. Let Jesus show Himself through you, and minister to your unsaved family, friends, co-workers, and anyone else that God places in your path.

Our whole relationship with God can be defined by mercy. Hebrews 9:22 says that "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Christ's blood was shed on our behalf, and God's mercy has allowed us to be redeemed. When Christ comes back to judge the earth, our slates will be clean because of God's mercy.

To whom does God offer His free grace? He gives it to everyone! But we must remember what it cost Christ. He was the only truly innocent man on earth, yet He was made sin for us. We never could have done this ourselves. Jesus' death removed our guilt and corruption, and now we have eternal hope in Him.

As we begin the book of Romans, Pastor Jeff reminds us how important it is for us to lay our faith on solid ground. Maturing in our walk with the Lord isn't easy, but when we grow close to Him and have that firm foundation, He does amazing work in our lives.

As we wrap up our study on God's Model for the Church, Pastor Jeff reminds us that we must be faithful in small things before we can be trusted with big things. Are you allowing the Lord to lead you? Or are you trying to lead Him? Be content with the work God gives you, no matter how small or menial. If you are doing His bidding with a willing heart, He will bless your efforts many times over.
