Lucifer, Part 3

September 6, 2012
John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” We need to remember that, yes, God does allow bad things to happen. But He is not the creator of evil — Satan is. Christ’s desire is for us to have eternal life in Him.

After being cast out of heaven, Lucifer became the god of this world. He inhabits the earth and infects men with his wickedness. Satan might have a great influence on the physical world, but Pastor Jeff reminds us that Lucifer was a created being. He has no power, except that which God allows him to have, and one day Satan will be defeated.

Sadly, violence is so prevalent in our world today that it’s almost accepted as normal. In today’s study, Pastor Jeff points out that the reason for this increase in violence is evil in the world. This evil comes directly from Lucifer, the father of lies. Thankfully, through Bible study we can learn how to help others who are blinded by Satan, and overcome the spiritual wickedness in the world.

God created us with the freedom to make a choice. If you are a Christian, you have chosen to follow Jesus. But there are many who have not made this choice, and as a result, Satan has blinded their eyes. Today Pastor Jeff reminds Christians the power of intercessory prayer. Let us intercede for those who are held captive by the god of this world.

At one point in time he was named “Lucifer”, and he worshiped in the very presence of God. But because of his pride, he was cast out of Heaven, and now Satan is a master of deception. He is the power behind every evil thing that exists in this world today, but soon he will be dealt with. Today Pastor Jeff encourages us to understand the scriptures so that we can rightly deal with the spiritual warfare surrounding us on a constant basis.

The world we live in today is filled with sadness, sorrow, and sinfulness. But this was never God’s intention. We live in a world established by man, but we will soon see a world that is filled with peace, a world that is of God, and not of man.

Today, there seems to be no help, and no deliverance for us, but the Bible tells us to “look up, for our redemption draws near.” Don’t look at your situation, look to the Lord. He is coming again, and He will establish His Kingdom here on earth.

He came as a man, and He was born to die; yet this was God's plan. Today Pastor Jeff talks about the Redemption of the world through Jesus Christ. He fulfilled the scriptures by coming the first time, and now we are looking forward to Him coming again.

No matter what Israel did against the Lord, He loved them as His own chosen people. As we finish up our study in Isaiah 10, Pastor Jeff recounts the destruction of God’s enemies in the Old Testament.
