Loving & Walking In Liberty, Part 3

July 7, 2015

The world today thinks they have love and freedom. But the worlds love is selfish, and creates bondage to sin. What the world needs is love, not like the love from the old hit song from the 60’s, but God's Agape Love. God's love is selfless and never runs out. He offers it freely to all those who would believe. Join Pastor Jeff in the book of Galatians 5 for the conclusion of Loving and Walking in Liberty.

There are many who come to church and read their bibles, although these things are right, we still need a new heart. The Lord wants to give each of us, a heart of tenderness and love. This can only happen by the power of the Holy Spirit. Join Pastor Jeff for part 2 of his message, Loving and Walking in Liberty.

Love and Liberty go hand in hand in God's kingdom. But how do these two function together? Well God revealed His love to us through the person of Jesus Christ. He is our model of how we are to lead our lives. Jesus fulfilled the whole law and commands us to walk in His commandment, which is love. Join Pastor Jeff for part 1 of Loving and Walking in Liberty.

James 3 says, “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.” And Revelation 22:19 says, If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the book of Life.” These verses are both sobering and alarming. God is paying close attention to the things being taught in the pulpit. The Apostle Paul had to confront those who distorted Gods truth. Today Pastor Jeff concludes his message titled, Confronting Legalism.

The Protestant theologian Frances Schaeffer is quoted saying, “The Truth demands confrontation; loving confrontation, but confrontation nevertheless.” The Apostle Paul is confronting the legalism that has infiltrated the regional churches of Galatia. He is fighting against those who would pervert the Gospel of Grace with the works of the Law. Pastor Jeff is in Galatians 5 with the second half of Confronting Legalism.

Confrontations are never comfortable situations. Most of us try our best to stay out of them. But there are times when confrontation is necessary. Pastor Jeff is in Galatians 5 and is giving the reasons for Paul’s confrontation. Paul is not doing this for his own personal gain but for the benefit of the church at large. Join us as we begin a new series titled, Confronting Legalism.

When someone makes a promise to you, do you find it difficult to believe them? Is it because belief means to trust? There are many that don’t want to believe in God because they have trust issues. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we can have full trust in the promises of God, with any situation that comes into our lives. Join Pastor Jeff for the second half and conclusion of Walk in Liberty.

Today we begin a new chapter in the book of Galatians. Pastor Jeff is teaching about the liberty that Christ has given us. We live in a world that has lots of rules and regulations, but in Christ the primary rule is grace. Join Pastor Jeff for a message called, Walk in Liberty.

This has been an intersting lesson from Galatians 4. The Apostle Paul shed light on a typology in the Old Testament with Sarah and Abraham representing the Promise of Eternal Life through a promised Son. Pastor Jeff has been explaining that the Old Jerusalem represents Law and regulation. But the promise we have in the new Jerusalem is one established on grace through Christ.
June 25, 2015
There is a syaing that the Old Testament is a picture of a New Testament principle. Paul draws on this concept as he uses the old Jerusalem as a sign of living under the Law, in comparison to the new Jerusalem in Heaven where those who believe in Christ are citizens. Paul was a master at the Old Testament, and God used him to bring a clear teaching of grace. Join Pastor Jeff for the second half of a message called, "Whos Your Mother?"

Thanks for joining us today on SDR. Pastor Jeff has been teaching about the grace of God from the Apostle Paul's letter to the Galatians. Paul had to go deep into doctrine by pulling out Old Testament allegories to explain the implications of the Cross; which is Grace. Pastor Jeff helps explain these allegories in Galatians 4 with a message he titled, "Whos Your Mother?"
