Joy To the World, Part 1

We are taking a break from our study in the Gospel of Mark to focus on the Reason for the Season, Jesus. Some find Christmas to be dreary. The reason being as we will learn, they don’t have the Joy of the Lord. On today’s edition, Pastor Jeff will teach us the true meaning of Joy. Its something the world doesn’t have, or understand. The disciples walked, talked, with Jesus for three years. In their minds they thought Jesus would over through the Roman Government, and establish a kingdom. Boy were they wrong. Pastor Jeff will show us today that although peter’s confession was right in whom Jesus was, his understanding of His coming was off. Sometimes we can get it wrong too when making our request known to Him. This is the conclusion to the series, “Seeing, Confessing, and Death.”

There are a lot of opinions of who Jesus is in the world. Some say he was a good man, others say a teacher, and some even say a prophet. But who do you say He is? The book of Romans says that Gods ways are past our finding out. Today pastor Jeff is in Mark chapter 8. We will learn that the methods Jesus used to heal someone, where not always the same way. Pastor Jeff will teach us that our request should not be dictated to Him. We must ask in reverence, and always with the understanding that His will should be done. This is the new series, “Seeing, Confessing, and Death.”

We are continuing today’s lesson in the Gospel of Mark chapter 8. Pastor Jeff is expounding on the miracle of multiplying of the bread. We will learn that Christ will use this as an illustration for His disciples, to teach them to give the people, Himself. And it’s an important lesson for us today. This is the second half of the study titled, “The Bread of Life”

On today’s program will here pastor Jeff teach on one of the greatest miracles that Jesus performed. He provided food to thousands in a place of desolation. This is a wonderful picture of who Christ is and how He is nourishment for us in this world of futility. In the Gospels we see Jesus praying constantly. At times he would go alone some place and pray all night. Other times he would pray for people publicly. The book of Ephesians tells us that Gentiles were with out hope, being separated from the common wealth of Israel. The Jews prided themselves in being God’s chosen people. But on today’s lesson we will learn that even Gentiles can pray to Jesus Christ and He will hear us. Pastor Jeff exhorts us today to continue to ask, seek and knock in the continuation of our series titled, “Jesus Loves Gentile Puppies”

The Christ was sent to His people, Israel. God chose them all the way back in the Old Testament, to be a light to the world. So naturally as planned, God sent the Light of the World, Jesus to them.
