Jesus Our Sabbath, Part 2

October 13, 2016
Jesus called many to follow after Him. These men and women were real people with real jobs. But, there was something in Jesus that caused them to abandon the safety and security of the world, and follow Him. Today Pastor Jeff is in the Gospel of Mark chapter 2, and we are learning that, when we take up our cross and follow Him, we gain everything. We invite to follow along in part 2 of the series, “Jesus Our Sabbath”

Jesus’s public ministry lasted 3 years. He performed many signs and wonders. But, it was in the teaching and preaching the Word that was His primary focus. If Christ paid so much attention to the Word of God, we should as well. Gods word is the only thing that will ever truly bring peace and clarity in a unpeacful world. Pastor Jeff begins Mark chapter 2 in the 4 part series titled, “Jesus our Sabbath”.

We have been studying about the power of Jesus’s words when spoke. He has authority over the elements and spiritual hosts in heavenly places. Demons are very real, but as Christians we shouldn’t fear them. We should however be in prayer daily and fast often as Jesus did. Christ is not physically on earth with us, but we have His Word and the authority of His name. Pastor Jeff is in the Gospel of Mark chapter 1, in the conclusion of the series, “Jesus Came, Demons Went.”

The Word of God tells us that Satan formerly known, as Lucifer was an angel. He was expelled from heaven because of iniquity was found in him. But he wasn’t alone in his rebellion. Other Angels fell with him and were sent to the earth. These are called demons and they dwell amongst us. On this edition of Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff will teach us about the characteristics and principle by which these fallen angels operate. This is the series titled, “Jesus Came, Demons Went.”

The Word of God came to the earth and dwelt among us. Jesus healed, and transformed many lives during His three-year public ministry.  And on today’s edition of Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff is reminding us that the Word is still here, in the form of the bible. This book is living, active, and sharp to cut through strongholds, and heal the broken hearted. We are in the Gospel of Mark chapter 1, in the new series, “Jesus Comes, Demons Went.”

When Jesus Christ called the disciples to follow Him, he meant it. The same is true when He called you. We are called to forsake all others, take up our cross and follow Him. Do you find yourself today, maybe not quite following him the way you did, when He first called you? We want to encourage you to follow along with Pastor Jeff in the series, “First Jesus Movement” and pray the Lord would speak to you about your current relationship with Him. We are in the Gospel of Mark chapter 1.

Those of us who have been Christians long enough have heard of the Jesus movement from the 60’s and 70’s. It was a great time of evangelism and discipleship. But it wasn’t the first. Christ came on the scene 2,000 years ago calling men and women to repentance. And that movement still continues today. We invite you to follow along with Pastor Jeff in Mark chapter 1, in the continuation of the series, “First Jesus Movement.”

Pastor Jeff was apart of the Jesus movement in the 60-70’s. As great as it was, it actually wasn’t the first. 2,000 years ago in the small fishing town of Gallalle, Jesus called his disciples and others to follow after Him. Today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff is reminding us from Mark Chapter 1, that Jesus is still calling many to follow after Him. This is the new series titled, “First Jesus Movement”.

The last of the Old Testament prophets concludes with John The Baptist. He was the herald of Christ to ready the people’s hearts to receive Messiah. Jesus would call him the greatest of all the prophets. But this didn’t go to his head. He was a humble man, and knew that he was unworthy. The more time we spend with God, the reality of our sinful state should humble us, as it did John. This is the conclusion to the study titled, “Introduction to Mark.”
October 3, 2016
Pastor Jeff is in the introduction still of the book of Mark. This book is condensed into only 16 chapters, but it is jam packed with Jesus’s miracles and teachings. Today Pastor Jeff will teach us that Christ’s public ministry comprised of Him caring for people. That same care is extended to us today. We invite you to turn to the Gospel of Mark and follow along in the study titled, “Introduction to Mark.”

Today Pastor Jeff begins the Gospel of Mark. It is fast pasted and action packed right out of the first chapter. Today Pastor Jeff gives us the introduction, and background on this Gospel’s author. He was a man who didn’t start out so well in the ministry. Maybe you have had the same experience! Well, we invite you to turn to the Gospel of Mark Chapter one, and follow along with Pastor Jeff in the Study titled, “Introduction to Mark.”
