His Command Our Choice, Part 2

August 27, 2015
Welcome to Wednesday's edition of SDR. You know there are scenarios in our lives that we will never fully be able to see. But God has all the vantage points that we don’t. His plans and paths for us are the best, because He can see where they lead.  Pastor Jeff is in the book of Joshua and we are learning that when God gives a command, it should be obeyed. The children of Israel are learning this valuable lesson as they journey from Desert to Promise. Join Pastor Jeff for part 2 of “His Commands Our Choice.

Welcome to SDR with Jeff Johnson senior Pastor of CCD.  Through out the bible we see God giving specific commands to His children.  Many times when people see the commandments in scripture, they see it as a burden. But this kind of thinking of Gods commandments is inaccurate. God doesn’t give us commands to control us, but to bless us. Today Pastor Jeff teaches from Joshua Chapter 1 picking up at verse 10 for a 3 part series called, “His commands Our Choice.”

Welcome to SDR with Pastor and Teacher Jeff Johnson. What made the heroes of the bible great? Was it their eloquent speech, or their political knowledge? The answer is that they spent time hearing the Word of God. The bible says that God's Word is the lamp to our feet and light to our path. We need His wisdom and light to navigate successfully through life. Join Pastor Jeff for the conclusion to “Our Commission.”

Welcome to SDR. Pastor Jeff is teaching from the book of Joshua. As the children of Israel prepare to enter the promise land, Joshua knows there are giants ahead. But Joshua had prior experience of spying out these giants, and he has full confidence in his God to get them through it. The same is true for you and I. The giants we face in life are nothing compared to the strength found in Christ. Stay tuned for the second half of, “Our Commission."

Welcome to the conclusion of Galatians 6 with Pastor Jeff Johnson. Concerning the Apostle Paul, A.W. Tozer said, “Faith, as Paul saw it, was a living, flaming thing leading to surrender and obedience to the commandments of Christ.” As we have studied the letter to the Galatians, we have seen Paul's dedication to the gospel of grace that was given to him, by the Lord Jesus. This is what drove him to his extreme distances. Pastor Jeff gives us the final words of Paul from Galatians 6.

Welcome to Wednesday's edition of SDR. Are we influenced by peer pressure? Sometimes even within the church we can be pressured into convictions that the Lord never intended for us. We see in the church, globally, people making compromises because of the influence of the world or other beliefs. The Apostle Paul has been exhorting the Galatians not to compromise grace. Stay tuned for the second half of Pastor Jeff's message called, “Paul's Final Words.”

Final testaments are so important. Many leave behind a will of trust to give instruction on how to handle assets. So too, the Apostle Paul begins signing off to the Galatians in chapter 6. He has exhorted them to remain in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ as when they first believed. He also writes about living a life not of circumcision but of new creation. Join Pastor Jeff for a study in Galatians 6 beginning in vs 11 called, “Paul's Final Words.”

Thank you for tuning into SDR with Jeff Johnson, Pastor of CCD. We have all gone through what the Bible calls trials and tribulation. But how many of us have gone through a trial and still cared for the well being of others? The trials we face in life should never hinder us from doing good and caring for other people. Paul said, “And let us not grow weary while doing good.” He said this knowing with full assurance we would be blessed. Join Pastor Jeff for the conclusion of the series, “Koinonia Sharing His Love.”

Jesus said, “What profit is it if you only love those who love you, for even the Pharisees do that.” This radical challenge from 2,000 years ago is still applicable today. We need help from the Holy Spirit to love the unlovable. Pastor Jeff is teaching the last chapter and verses of Galatians, and we are learning about Paul's gratitude for the churches who loved on him. These verses should challenge us to see if we are sharing the love of Christ in our own life. Stay tuned for “Koinonia Sharing His Love.”
August 14, 2015
Welcome to SDR. Today, Pastor Jeff starts a series in Galatians called, “Koinonia-Sharing His Love.” Jesus said the world would know that we are His disciples by our love. Loving others is the principal that Jesus taught when He was on earth. All the Law and commandments are hinged on Love. Pastor Jeff teaches about the local church's relationship with the Apostle Paul and how they showed their love toward him. Stay tuned for part one of "Sharing in His Love!"
