Grace and Peace, Part 2

April 28, 2015
Man is corrupt and in a fallen state. Therefore mans religion is corrupt. Religion and regulation are in place to bind and blind people from the truth, that we have been set free from sin and the Law through Christ. Pastor Jeff is teaching through Galatians chapter 1, and we are learning about the Grace and Peace that Christ brings to those who have been set free from religion.

Our God is loving, patient and kind. But there comes a time when He has to discipline his kids. God disciplines because he loves us too much to allow us to continue in our sin. Pastor Jeff teaches on the final chapter of 2 Kings with a message titled, “Bondage, Captivity & Hope”

When the Word of God repeats itself, it means its subject matter is extremely important. Over and Over again the Prophets of the Lord pleaded with the people to turn from their sin but they did not listen. So God raised up the Babylonian Empire to be the spanking rod to his children. God takes no pleasure in the destruction of the evil.  His will is that man would turn from their ways and follow after him. Coming up next, we’ll hear the final installment of “The Siege”

God does not bluff, He says what He means, and Means what He says. We are currently in 2 Kings chapter 25 learning about the Babylonian Empire its siege of Judah. God never wanted this for His people, so he warned them, but his warnings fell on deaf ears. Pastor Jeff gives us the second half to the message entitled, “The Siege”

No one wants to be a captive to any one. For many years God pleaded with Judah to repent and turn back to Him, but they refused. Their refusal to the plea of God lead to their removal from Judah. Pastor Jeff begins 2 Kings chapter 25 with a message he has entitled, “The Siege!”

“Fallen man is not simply an imperfect creature who needs improvement, he is a rebel who must lay down his arms.” That’s from writer C.S. Lewis. The rebellious  kings of Judah were warned to surrender to the Lord by the prophets of God. However, they continued in their rebellion and God was left with no other alternative but to destroy Judah. Next on SD, the conclusion of the 3 part series called, “The Devastation of Judah” with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

Through out scripture God always gave a warning to those who were sinning to repent or else he would bring destruction. He is long suffering and doesn’t wish any to perish; however His word also tells us, He will not always strive with men. Because God is just, justice must come to those who continue to commit evil. Join Pastor Jeff on part 2 of this 3 part series titled, “The Devastation Of Judah”

The Apostle Paul wrote in the letter to the Galatians in chapter 6 saying, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” The sons of Josiah took the throne after their father and acted wickedly with no intent on repenting.  Pastor Jeff teaches us that the rebellion and abandonment of the Word of God has devastating effects. Join us as we begin the series titled, “The Devastation of Judah”

In the book of Romans the Apostle Paul exhorts the church to not conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. This same exhortation is still applicable today. On today’s program in 2 Kings 23, we’ll learn about the sons of King Josiah, who conformed to their surrounding nations and practiced idolatry. Pastor Jeff concludes the message “End Of Revival”
