Good Friday

April 1, 2015
The atonement in Jesus Christ's blood is perfect; there isn't anything that can be added to it. It is spotless, impeccable, and flawless. It is perfect as God is perfect.” That is from the American Preacher A.W. Tozer. He is right! Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary’s cross is complete and there is nothing more that needs to be done for man to be saved. Today Pastor Jeff will be teaching us about the true Passover lamb, Jesus Christ. Stay tuned for a Good Friday Message right here on Sound Doctrine!

2 Timothy Chapter 3:16 & 17 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Because of the Word of God King Josiah became equipped and humble to lead the people back to their God. Pastor Jeff continues his study through 2 Kings chapter 22 entitled, “Humbled By Gods Word.”

The English Writer and Apologist G.K. Chesterton once said, “There are those who hate Christianity and call their hatred an all-embracing love.. for all religions.” Jesus did not come to create a religious system but to bring humanity back into fellowship with God. This was His mission and its accomplishment would be brought about by His death. Pastor Jeff concludes his message from John chapter 12 entitled, “Triumph or Tragedy” next on Sound Doctrine.

It is important that we don’t have our own ideas of who Jesus Christ is, but that we have a biblical view of who He is. The religious leaders of Jesus’s time had their own understanding of who they thought Messiah was going to be. Because of their religiosity, it caused them to miss out on their Messiahs entry into Jerusalem! Pastor Jeff begins part 2 of “Triumph or Tragedy”.

Today we will  focus on Palm Sunday and the prophetic journey Jesus took from the Mount of Olives, to the Cross of Calvary. Was this journey a “Tragedy or Triumph?” Find out as Pastor Jeff takes us through John Chapter 12 next on Sound Doctrine.

1 John chapter 4 vs 8 declares, “…God is Love”. We know from God’s Word that Love is patient and longsuffering. But the Kings of Judah took Gods longsuffering as Him being slow to judgment. This kind of thinking would lead to their destruction.

It’s been said that it doesn’t matter how well you start, what matters is how well you finish. On todays edition of Sound Doctrine we begin a study in 2 Kings chapter 21 entitled “The Last 3 Kings”. God desired to make Israel the light to the world, and wanted to govern them. However their pride and flesh drove them away from the leading of God and His Word. Their end would be the demise of several ungodly kings.

Did you know that not all sickness is physical or mental but we can become spiritually sick as well.  God healed King Hezekiah from his physical sickness, but he became spiritually sick. The healing from spiritual sickness comes from our great physician Jesus Christ. Pastor Jeff concludes his 3 part study in 2 Kings chapter 20 entitled, “Sickness and Healing”

It seems these days we have a lot on our plate and are busy, the last thing we want to think about sickness and their effects. Isaiah Chapter 26 verse 3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in You.” Today pastor Jeff continues his series entitled, “Sickness & Healing” and encourages us to keep our eyes on Jesus who is our healer.
