Elijah Raptured, Part 2

December 18, 2014
Jesus said "He who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to My Father.  Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorfied in the Son."  Because of Jesus, God has given His children the privilege of doing His work by the power of The Holy Spirit.

People flocked from all over to hear Jesus.  But they also came with many questions, one of which we can read in John 6:28 that says, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"  Jesus answered by saying "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."  This answer still rings true today.  On this edition of Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff explains what it means to believe, and gives listeners an opportunity to respond.

The majority of the time spent in the wilderness for the Israelites was in disobedience.  Numbers 21 gives the story of venomous snakes biting the Israelites, and the only way for deliverance was to simply look at a replica snake on a pole.  The same is true for us.  Christ became a curse for us, and all we need to do is look to the cross at Calvary for deliverance.  Pastor Jeff will talk more about this in a message called "Call On The Lord And Live."

As we read the stories of the Bible, we sometimes forget that these are true accounts. The Bible itself says that "these happened as examples, and were written for our learning." Revelation 22:17 reads "And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires let him take the water of life freely."  Because of God's Love toward us, we can freely be forgiven of all sins.  Today Pastor Jeff talks about this powerful verse in the conclusion of a message called "This Is The End, Part 1."

The beauty of the Cross is that all sins can be forgiven and forgotten.  There is not 1 sin that Christ didn't endure for mankind.  The only thing required of us is to simply believe and follow Jesus.  Today Pastor Jeff expounds on the incredible invitation of Revelation 22:17 which invites all to freely come and have their sins forgiven.

God is consistently speaking to believers.  If we are obedient to His voice, we walk towards the light and things become clear.  But if we are disobedient, we walk away from the light and will soon find ourselves in darkness and confusion.  Today on Sound Doctrine we'll talk about the importance of trusting God and submitting to The Holy Spirit in these Last Days.
