Down But Not Out, Part 3

If you have ever had any doubts about Gods faithfulness, or if He keeps His promises, all you have to do is look to Israel. Pastor Jeff is teaching us that God will save Israel in the end. Many times in life we can become discouraged when we mess up, or find ourselves unfaithful to the Lord. We can think God is done with us. But He is faithful and will never give up on us! This is the conclusion to the study titled, “Down But Not Out” From Romans ch. 11.

There is a great truth that we have received that comes with a promise. God has an inheritance waiting for His church. Israel was also promised many things from the Lord, but they rejected His Messiah. Now does that mean God is threw with them? When it comes to Gods faithfulness there is no better country to look at than Israel. Despite all the rejecting Israel has done to God, His love remains. Pastor Jeff is in Romans chapter 11 looking at the faithfulness of God to His people. We will learn in this study that God doesn’t cast us off when we mess up. Sharing the Gospel was top priority for the early church. Unfortunately today that same energy to evangelize has sizzled out. But the call to share is still applicable today, as it was in the first century. Pastor Jeff will help us learn, there is no good excuse for us not to share the gospel.

Sharing the Gospel with others can be a scary situation for a lot of people. The fear of rejection, and anxiety of not being well received, is paralyzing. Well today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff is helping us remove the fear of sharing the Gospel. He will teach us it’s not our responsibility to save people, or force a belief in them. But to simply share the Gospel with them. This is the series, “Me an Evangelist Part 2.”

Sharing the Gospel should be an active part of our spiritual life. Many shy away from doing this because of fear, and rejection. The word evangelist means ‘seller of soap.’ The Gospel of Christ is the spiritual soap we all needed at one time. It is only being washed in Christ blood that we are made clean. Therefore we should tell others. Today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff will encourage us to also share our faith. There is a Fleetwood Mac song called, “Go your own Way”. For many this is the anthem for their lives. Seeking to find God on their own terms or religion leads them only further away from Christ. The Jews did the same thing and in the end, they missed their Messiah. Today, we are completing Romans Chapter 9. Jesus declared that the gate, and road to eternal life was narrow, and small. He said that there were few on it. But the pathway to destruction or hell was broad and many were on it! So why on earth would any one take that route?
