Compromise Brings Death, Part 2

When we think of the prophets in the Bible, we think of the big names like: Isaiah or Jeremiah. But have you ever heard of a prophet named Micaiah? He's found in the last chapter of 1st Kings. When many chose to please the king of Israel by prophesying falsely, Micaiah chose not to compromise and delivered a prophecy that would soon come to pass.

Christian or not: If we sow to the flesh, we will reap corruption. In our current study of 1st Kings we've seen Jezebel and Ahab operating in the flesh, and according to the law of sowing and reaping this could only pave the way for corruption.

Today in chapter 21 of 1st Kings we continue to see the evil plots of Jezebel against an innocent man named Naboth. Pastor Jeff points out that Jezebel and her husband have broken all of Gods commendments, including "You shall not murder."

In chapter 20 of 1st Kings, Ahab's wife Jezebel was nowhere to be found. But today in chapter 21 Jezebel is back. The Bible describes Jezebel as an evil women, as well as an evil spirit. And today we will see her evil actions stir up her husband.

God said of Israel "For he who touched you touches the apple of His eye." During the course of history many nations have sought to destroy Israel. But God has kept His promise and will continue to shelter the nation of Israel. As we conclude chapter 20 of 1st Kings we will learn of a past event when God once again delivered Israel.

Hebrews 11:6 says "without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Today Pastor Jeff continues to teach on the Christmas story found in Matthew chapter 2, and explains that the star the wise men sought after led them to Jesus. Be encouraged this Christmas day to be a wise man or women and to seek after Jesus diligently.
