Commercialism Judged/Be A Watchman, Part 2

Historically we are living in the dispensation of Grace. Anyone, anywhere can be forgiven of all sin because of the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 says "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Today Pastor Jeff expounds on this incredible opportunity in the series called "Be A Watchman."

Have you ever wondered about the winners of the lottery? What happens to them? Sadly, many end up with their lives completely ruined. 1 Timothy 6:9 gives an explanation and warning. It says "those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction." There is only One God who is completely sovereign and in control and He is the only One worthy of worship. On todays program Pastor Jeff will continue to teach on the Last Days, and the anti-Christ's evil desire to be worshiped as God.

If we study a historical timeline of the world along with The Word Of God, we can clearly see that we are coming to the end of the age. Today, Pastor Jeff will continue to teach on this subject and talks about an evil political system that will soon arise.

The man known as the anti-Christ is waiting to be unleashed on this world, and the Bible reveals his tactics. He will bring a temporary peace to the world for 3 years until his true nature is revealed. The only force that is holding him back is the church. We'll hear more about this today as Pastor Jeff begins a messaged called "The End Of This Age."

Did you know that religion is at war with the Grace of God? Religion says you must work your way to God. But the Bible responds in Ephesians 2:8 saying "It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Our only boasting should be in the goodness and grace of God through Jesus Christ.

There's no amount of money or riches that can save a person from their sins. It's only the blood of Jesus that can cleanse and reconcile people with God. Today there are many religions that promote "works" that will get you to Heven. But on todays edition of Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff points out the hypocrisy and destruction of these relgious beliefs.

Second Timothy chapter 3, gives a prophetic sign of what certain men will do in the last days. They will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, unforgiving, headstrong, and haughty. They will have a form of godliness but deny its power. Today on Sound Doctrine we'll learn more about this religious hypocrisy and its soon destruction.
