Church, Wake Up! Part 3

The grace of God is un-earned, un-deserved and un-merited. But because of a lack of understanding, some abuse grace, turning it into something evil, rather then good. Today we continue to learn about the mockers of the last days, and we see that compromising Gods Word is at the top of their agenda.

The Bible says, 'Scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts'. These people do not follow the Word of God, and cause many to stumble in their faith. On todays program, Jude continues to warn and reveal to us the signs of the last days. As we study Gods Word, we see that these scoffers are in our world today.

Apathy has slowly crept into the church. Many are asleep spiritually, and this allows the enemy to slip in subtly and cause havoc in the church. In todays message 'Church, Wake Up!' Pastor Jeff exhorts us to wake up and to understand the times we are living in.

God is Love, but He is also Just. He will judge each person accordingly, weather they are righteous or unrighteous. The Bible says 'God is the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.' And we must understand that a Christian's righteousness is in Jesus and Him alone.

Enoch, who is a type of the church, was raptured before the worldwide flood. Before the destruction of Sodom and Gommorah, Lot was delivered. Today, Pastor Jeff says, 'before God pours out His wrath of judgment on this world, believers will be saved.

In the book of Genesis, a man named Enoch makes a short appearance in the scriptures. Today, Jude gives a closer look into the life of this man, and we discover that he was a prophet who warned about the Judgment of God. Judgment is inevitable for this world, but Pastor Jeff reminds us that 'God is longsuffering, and his patience is an opportunity for salvation'.

Because it speaks of the Truth, The Word of God is the greatest value for believers. Without Truth, how can one be directed in life? As we conclude our current study 'You Will Know Them by Their Fruits', Pastor Jeff says, 'False teachers will guide people into an unstable and empty life'. But if we feed upon Gods Word, and obey it, we will be led by the Truth, and produce lasting fruit.

A farmers worse nightmare, is a season of drought. Without rain, his crops have no chance of growing. On todays program, Jude relates false teachers to clouds without water.They deceive people with their many words, but in the end, their words produce no fruit. Pastor Jeff encourages us today to study the Word of God, so that we can rightly identify these false teachers.

Jesus said, “In the last days many would come in His name, claiming to be the Messiah, and would deceive many. The Apostle Paul wept day and night because of the “wolves in sheep’s clothing” that would soon corrupt the church. And in todays study, Jude lays out the characteristics and signs of these deceivers.

Cain, Balaam and Korah, are 3 Old Testament examples that we are not to follow. Today Pastor Jeff explains the rebellious ways of these 3 characters, and what will happen if we take their path. As Christians, we are to stay on God’s path, and experience the many blessings that come from obedience. Now, with the final part of his message “Woe Unto These”, here’s Pastor Jeff.

People will not make it to Heaven based on their works, but on the one work Christ did on the Cross. On todays program, Pastor Jeff reminds us of the Old Testament mistake of Cain, who believed his religious work would be accepted by God. But God rejected his labor, and gladly accepted the first fruits of his brother Abel. Pastor Jeff continues with more on this subject, today on Sound Doctrine.
