Welcome to SDR! Charles Spurgeon once said, “Faith and obedience are bound up in the same bundle. He that obeys God trusts God; and he that trusts God obeys God. He that is without faith is without works; and he that is without works is without faith.” Pastor Jeff is teaching on the victorious Christian life from the book of Joshua. We are learning that the key component to living a victorious life is having faith, and to do the good works that God has called us to. Welcome to Wednesdays edition of SDR. Pastor Jeff is in the book of Joshua chapter 2. We are learning about Rahab an unsuspecting hero of the OT. She was a prostitute who hid the spies of Israel from the enemy. God saved Rahab and her family because of their trust in the Lord. She is a OT picture of a NT princapel that God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Join pastor Jeff for the conclusion to “Rahab VS. the World.”

Thanks for tuning into SDR with Pastor Jeff Johnson of CCD. We are learning a very important principle of Gods nature from the book of Joshua chapter 2; He saves sinners! God loves people but hates the sin they live in. Rahab is one OT example of God saving a women who sought salvation. She is mentioned in the NT several times to show Gods love towards a repented person. Stay tuned for part 2 of Rahab Vs the World.

The bible tells us that the Christian has 3 enemies; the world, the flesh and the devil. The flesh is one enemy that we battle on a daily bases. As Israel crosses over the Jordan, they prepare to engage their enemy. They asses the situation by observing their enemy before battling them! Pastor Jeff is in Joshua chapter 2 and we are learning that the book of Joshua is a picture of the NT warfare. Stay tuned for “Rahab vs. the World.”

Many times when people see the commandments in scripture, they see it as a burden. But this kind of thinking of Gods commandments is inaccurate. God doesn’t give us commands to control us, but to bless us. Today Pastor Jeff teaches from Joshua Chapter 1 picking up at verse 10 for a 3 part series called, “His commands Our Choice.”
