Beautifully Blessed

Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, “Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall.” - Nehemiah 4:3

Sanballat and Tobiah continued to mock the Jews endeavors; these evil men believed Nehemiah and the people were too feeble. They were intent on destroying their plans to rebuild. Yet, Nehemiah’s life and work were beautifully blessed by the Lord. God continued to provide the laborers, and all their supplies. The wall continued to be constructed at a fast pace. Seriously, no one can fight against the work of God.

When God called me to serve Him, I was able to see how the Lord beautifully blessed us as a church. Over the years I have seen people, who want to serve in ministry, but immediately they want to build their own kingdom––even to the point where they mock, lie and cheat.

Yet they have not been here from the beginning, when we started a Bible study in our home for five years. Later, we moved to a building, and at that time in ministry, I would walk to the church at 5:00 in the morning. Our family only had one car. Then there were times when food was left on our front door step––it was very humbling.  There was not much to live on in the beginning. God has beautifully blessed us now but I remember the times when I cried with my wife.

In the times we live today we have among us a selfish generation. Why? They have not had to struggle and have not experienced poverty. This generation has had everything handed to them and they often demand things from their parents. They do not realize it takes hard work, time and sacrifice to purchase a new home, car and the other things that God beautifully blesses us with. The main priority is to seek God first.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
~Matthew 6:33~
