Please listen with us.

Sad, but true: in our enlightened culture, we no longer repent of our sins. Instead, we've learned to manage them. We're so deceived; we think we're OK as long as we keep our sins in balance, like a circus juggler. We do this, knowing full well that God is not fooled. Yet, we do it anyway. Today: the bitter fruits of self-deception.

Lost in mystery is why Eve took a bite from that prohibited tree in the Garden of Eden. Not lost in mystery is the fallout. As a race, we humans are deceived. We deceive ourselves, and we specialize in deceiving others. Facing the reality of our condition is the first step in understanding why seemingly good people do bad things.

From presidents to paupers, a common theme of the human race is self-deception. We lie, and what's more, we enjoy it. We're far from being the inherently good people our culture says we are. In fact, apart from certain restraints, we're capable of unspeakable evil. Today: another chapter in our journey of self-discovery, in which we find out Why Good People Do Bad Things.

Remember the fairy tale? A lady, hoping for a positive response, says "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" She wanted to hear what we want to hear: that we are really OK, if not beautiful people. So we look for mirrors on our walls to show us what we want to see. The result: self-delusion, and one answer as to why good people do bad things.

When Timothy McVeigh went to his execution, America was left wondering how a decorated war veteran could've done something so evil. Many ask why seemingly good people turn bad...people who, based on all outward evidence, should act properly. The answer lies in understanding our fundamental nature. If you're willing to face the truth, please stay with us.
