The tragedy of racial and ethnic violence is that it's not getting any better. Military and diplomatic efforts don't remove the hate. In places like the Middle East, it takes a common denominator to bring unity to the chaos of "us versus them." Dialog and negotiations aren't enough. Outside of Jerusalem a transaction took place that shook the foundations of creation. Jesus, the Messiah, died. Then, as now, people passed by, not realizing the eternal consequences of what was happening on that cruel cross. Through his death, Jesus made a bridge between God and man so that we could cross over to eternal life. Today: more about the wonder of the supreme sacrifice.

There is a love so vast that it cannot be measured, much less comprehended. That love was displayed on a brutal cross. We can only run the race of life toward heaven because Jesus Christ hung on that cross to bear the penalty for our disobedience and rebellion.
