But the problem with most of them is that the books don’t mention any need for faith in Christ as the means to get there. The devil is deceiving multitudes into thinking that there’s no need to fear death; all will be okay.

God’s word is very clear: we’re not to consult mediums or fortune-tellers for guidance of any kind. But King Saul did so anyway to help him fight the Philistines. The knowledge he gained came from the dark side of the invisible world, and God was not pleased.

In eternity past, a civil war took place in heaven. Some of God’s angels rebelled, and a great darkness began. Satan and his forces were cast to Earth where, to this day, they’re at war with the people of God. They’re always seeking to destroy what God is building. Sometimes, through divination, demons seek to lure people into their trap. In today’s message learn Satan’s methods and our best defense.

God does not limit Himself to church buildings when He wishes to speak to His children. A man named Jacob found that out when God came to him when he was sleeping on the ground using a rock for a pillow. In a dream, he learned of God’s plans for him and his nation. That place became sacred and Jacob called it “the gate of heaven.” Today: how each of us can meet God in the very same way.

You might remember a Sunday School song called, “We are Climbing Jacob’s Ladder.” So, what’s that ladder all about? Jacob had a dream in which angels were ascending and descending a ladder that went from Earth to Heaven. Today, we’ll find out what that ladder means, and how God used that imagery to bridge the gap between our visible world and His invisible one.

We live in a visible world, but around us is an equally real invisible world. Sometimes the two intersect very tangibly. God may intervene supernaturally when we least expect it. That happened many times in both the Old and New Testaments. In today’s message, God speaks to a man in a dream, and reveals that man’s future destiny. This divine intersection is often called “Jacob’s ladder.”

The Bible tells of a life beyond this life—a life where all the wrongs of this world are made right. That world is, for now, part of an invisible world: the world of the spirit, the world of heaven and hell, God, angels and demons. Life on Earth is not limited to what our five senses can detect. There’s an entire world out there that exists in the realm of the spirit.
