God desires and deserves our adoration. This desire is at the core of God’s plan of redemption which He designed long ago. Bringing many sons and daughters to glory was His intention, even though He knew mankind would fall in the Garden of Eden.

The presence of God can be very strong in a local church. The Holy Spirit can move mightily in a gathering of God’s people, and that is why believers should not forsake the assembling of themselves together.

With Jesus as its cornerstone, the church has a rock-solid foundation. As believers, we are part of that building, since we are called “living stones” by the Apostle Peter. This message will describe our part in that divine structure.

Believers attend church to meet God and to glorify Him. We gather to express to God His worth to us. That’s what the word “worship” is all about.

Believers running the race of life need a sharp focus on that race. Having that focus clears out a lot of life’s cobwebs. If our objective is the glory of God, our daily decisions get easier, our time is better used, and our joy is greatly increased.

God’s glory is easy to lose sight of. All it takes is one small sin. In Moses’ day, the glory of God would come and go. In the end, it departed, as the sins of Israel caused God to draw back His favor.  Could this be true even today?

One day, believers will walk the streets of the New Jerusalem. Our sole focus will be the praise and worship of Almighty God. If this is true, why is God’s glory not our focus now?

As we mature in the faith, we come to realize more and more that it is not about us. It is about God, whose glory fills the heavens. When we see our lives as part of a much larger plan, we understand that enhancing God’s glory is the bottom line.

The Apostle Paul said Jesus was “declared to be the Son of God with power, by the resurrection from the dead.” If we trust Christ, the empty tomb in Jerusalem is a promise that the tombs you and I shall occupy will one day be empty as well.

Death is everyone’s unavoidable fate, the legacy of the first sin committed by Adam and Eve. But believers cling to the promise of Jesus, “I am the resurrection and the life…he that believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.”
