Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. Believers attend church to meet God, and further extend His glory. We gather to express to God His worth to us: that’s what the word “worship” is all about.

Believers running the race of life need a sharp focus on that race. Having that focus clears out a lot of life’s cobwebs. If our objective is the glory of God, our daily decisions get easier, our time is better used, and our joy is greatly increased.

God’s glory is easy to lose sight of. All it takes is one small sin. In Moses’ day, the glory of God would come and go. In the end, it departed, as the sins of Israel caused God to draw back His favor. Could this be true even today?
