Believers count on a life beyond this life. Meanwhile, we live to bring glory to God.  Whether our days are many or few, all of us will die. We want to live in such a way that, when life is over, God receives glory.

In the Old Testament, God’s glory was only seen by a few. Moses saw it, crying out to see more. But Paul wrote that “when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.” Now we can behold and be changed by the glory of God.

“And we with unveiled face beholding the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.” How that change occurs depends on believers renouncing sin in their lives.

The trials of Job would make many of us give up. Ten of his children were killed and his wife said “curse God and die.” But Job persisted until he could say to God, “I had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen you.”
