When Jesus sought out John to be baptized in the river Jordan, He was creating a picture for all who would follow Him, a public display of our belief in a life after death.

Many people go to the river Jordan to be baptized where their Lord was baptized. They want to identify themselves with Jesus, who submitted to baptism “to fulfill all righteousness.”
