Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. It is dangerous to get too close to a fire. The same is true of sexual temptation. That is why the seventh commandment teaches us to avoid all forms of such sin. The result is a life free of entanglements.

Each of us has a strong desire for intimacy, and self-control is difficult. Sex in its proper place is a great gift, but unrestrained passions can ruin one’s future.

The racetrack of life is smoother when things are right with mom and dad. Good relationships cultivate a healthy home, but bad ones bring much sorrow. Pastor Lutzer will discuss more teaching on God’s command designed to insure stable homes and well-adjusted families.

Long ago, God gave the Ten Commandments as a blueprint for living. Our failure to follow commandment number six is a big reason for the dismal state of many families.
July 16, 2014
At the bedrock of the Law of God is the prohibition of taking innocent life. Yet hundreds of people are killed every year in each of our major cities. Life is cheap, and it becomes cheaper when convicted killers do not pay the price for breaking this commandment.
July 15, 2014
Murder has almost become commonplace in our cities and on the news. Yet the taking of innocent life breaks one of the cardinal commandments of God. Since Roe vs. Wade, that commandment has been broken untold millions of times.
