Picture a marathon runner all alone, way in front of the others. He doesn’t know that he left the correct route long ago. He’s sincere, but sincerely wrong. Run as he might, his efforts will never win him the race. Sincerity is great, but it’s not enough, especially when it comes to this all-important matter: the salvation of our souls.

All around us are people with long-term health issues. Issues that seem to have no resolution, short of divine healing. But when these people pray for healing, the answer appears to be an ongoing “no.” They hear the verse, “my strength is made perfect in weakness,” and wish, sadly, that their answer had been “here’s the healing you seek.” Are you disappointed with God today?

When Christians find themselves in a time of need, they naturally pray for God to provide. Sometimes the answer is “no…”. How we react to that negative reply is crucial. We must come to understand that even the “no” answers are still answers, and that God is fully aware of our needs and what is best for us. Today we’ll discuss why our faith can grow even when the answer is no.

It’s tough taking “no” for an answer. When we were kids, we all felt those “no’s,” when our parents denied our requests. There are times when the answer to a believer’s prayer is a clear “no.” When that happens, we can either become resentful, or we can increase our faith. Today we’ll learn how to react and respond when God denies a request.
