September 10, 2010

Hades is where unbelievers go when they die, and one day, Hades will be thrown into hell. Today we take a look at the Bible’s teaching about the ultimate fate of people who never trusted Christ for salvation. Will this be your fate at death?

In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. What do you do when your marriage ends due to abuse in the home? The sense of rejection can be overwhelming. The human mind has an amazing capacity to deceive itself, especially when addicted to a substance or behavior. We can tell ourselves all sorts of lies to justify what we are doing. Even when it is obvious to others that we are addicted, we tell ourselves we are not. Today we learn about overcoming addictions, and facing up to our tendency to deceive ourselves.

When we hear about addictions, many of us think of drugs and alcohol. But there are many addictions that can ruin our lives. Some marriages are short-circuited by an addiction to debt, or to pornography. No matter what we are addicted to, addiction is the blinding absorption of sin. Today we hear some advice from First John chapter one on making the move from walking in darkness to walking in the light.
