Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. We’re called to run life’s race on the high ground of God’s Word. We must discern right from wrong and truth from error. Where else can we go? We need the Bible. Otherwise, we’ll have little impact on a world in dire need of Jesus.

Years ago, people could see a big difference between the world and the church. Now, many of us attend the same movies, listen to the same music, and pursue the good life like everybody else. It’s high time for some straight talk about what can be done.

To an outsider, hearing people speak in unknown languages may raise more questions than answers. That’s why Paul argued for clear teaching in known dialects. He tells us why the gift of tongues was given, referring to a prophecy in Isaiah chapter 28.
