“Greater love hath no man, than a man lay down his life for his friends.” That’s what Jesus said, and that’s what He did. There is no greater love than the love of God through His Son, and that’s the greatest Christmas gift one could receive this year.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” The life He offers to those who believe is an eternal one. This Christmas, let’s be thankful for the life our Savior promises, a life that transcends our temporary time in this world.

At Christmas, we would rather not think about the end of life. But the eternal life Jesus brought for those who believe means that death is not the end. In one sense, Jesus becomes the beginning of the real life we were meant to have.

The lights of Christmas come down in January. But the light Jesus brings into the hearts of believers can burn brighter every day. Yet sin can quickly obscures that light, so we must be diligent to walk in obedience.

With joyful carols filling the air, the Christmas season is upon us. Economy experts paint the season as pivotal for retailers, and many get caught up in the materialistic desires of our culture at this time of year. It’s sad that so much darkness is amongst us, but that’s why we look to Jesus as our source of light.

At Christmas we celebrate much more than gifts and good cheer. Believers in Jesus know He came into a world of woe. Born in a humble stable, this baby grew up to be the Savior of the world.

Most of us are glad to not know the trials tomorrow will bring. But Mary knew that pain was in her future even before her Son grew up. Jesus would divide people, and that division would run right through Mary’s soul.

When light comes, darkness scatters. The brightness of Jesus exposed the blackness of sin, and those who encountered Him either repented or rebelled. This was prophesied by an old man in the Temple at Jerusalem.
December 11, 2015
When you read the words of Jesus, you find some radical sayings that confounded the people of His day. His mother Mary had insight into the effect her Son would have, speaking about this in her Magnificat.
December 10, 2015
The world neither understood nor welcomed the arrival of Jesus. What He said caused bickering and strife among those who did not receive Him. Jesus was destined to divide, and we see this in an amazing revelation given to His mother Mary.
