The message is clear. Our culture and the media tell us to "look out for number one." And, in a way, they're right. Running the race of life involves understanding who is in charge. Once we realize that "number one" is not us, the race gets a lot easier. Today let's take the first step in living life with God in firm control.

Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. It's said, "you can run, but you can't hide." When it comes to sexual sin, there's no ultimate way to cover up the damage. King David's tortured journey through moral failure shows us God's determination that we repent, and His mercy in restoring our souls, allowing us to once again serve Him as we should. Today: how we, like David, can come back to God.

King David had no excuse. But along came Bathsheba. The fire of lust burned, a baby was conceived, and a king ended up sanctioning murder to cover up the scandal. But the story didn't end there. David acknowledged his sin, sought forgiveness, and found restoration with God. So can any of us who has sinned sexually.

Although we're all programmed to love a quick fix, breaking the cycle of moral failure is a process, not an event. Addictions to pornography and illicit sex run deep, but the cure runs deeper still. That cure requires something to believe, something to do, and something to share. Today, we focus on what we must do in order to be free.

Years ago pornography was sold from behind the counter. Nowadays it's free, delivered to the privacy of your own computer. No wonder there's an epidemic of sexual addiction sweeping our culture. People turn their fantasies into realities, and families are being destroyed daily. Today: how to break the cycle of sexual addiction, and swim against a rising tide of immorality.

Millions of people are trapped in the bitterness of not forgiving those who have done them grievous wrong. You may be one of them. Your past may be a black hole, sucking all the joy from your life. On today's broadcast, you'll find the way out of the despair of harboring a grudge, and the way back to hope for the future.

They say the future is an open book. The pages are blank...nothing's written down. But the past, that's a different story. Many look back and see horrible abuses they've suffered, or, others they've abused. Even though forgiven by God, they feel dirty, and that feeling turns to depression and anger, sometimes toward God. Is there a way out? Please stay with us.

When Jesus healed people, they had to want to be healed. The same is true for those seeking forgiveness...they had to desire it. The woman who wiped her own tears from Jesus' feet knew that this man could restore her dignity as well as forgive her moral sins. How badly do we want to be restored to fellowship with God? Today: a woman points the way for us to find the healing of our own souls.

At what point is forgiveness impossible? Some feel that one moral failure condemns them. What about a hundred? Many assume God won't forgive moral sins, so they sin all the more, not knowing the mercy of the Christ who died for sins like these. Today: a real-life story of how Jesus restored the dignity of someone with a lifetime of sexual sin.

When pop stars sing about lovers they can't get out of their minds, they're on the right track. Those lovers are now part of them. Immoral relationships create very deep bonds, even between people having what they think is casual sex. And the more bonds we make, the tougher they are to break. Today: finding the way out of the damage done by not obeying God's moral rules.

Looking back on the scars of a broken relationship, one man said "Oh, the price I've had to pay for fifteen seconds of pleasure." Sex, with the wrong person, is more than a one-night stand. It imprints the partners with an indelible soul tie that can follow them to the grave. And multiple partners mean multiple soul ties, making real commitment almost impossible. Today we will learn how to break those bonds.
