God Thinks Like We Do, Part 2 of 2 (Ten Lies About God)

January 12, 2015

Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. Is God’s will elusive? Does He try to make it hard to find? As the new year dawns, what lies ahead in the plan of God? The best advice is to take one step at a time. As we are learning, God’s will is a series of small events that ultimately take us where He wants us to go.

A new year, like a blank parchment, dawns with no written history. What happens then is known only to God. It makes a lot of sense to allow God to order our steps in the uncertain days ahead, because no one can do it better.
