As Christians run life’s race, they need to rid themselves of any evidence of these footholds. Otherwise, much damage can be done to the cause of Christ. Today: more lessons on how we can, and must, “clean up our act.”

The Bible says that Satan is like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But he can’t get in unless the door is open. Believers running life’s race have a choice: they can open the door, or slam it shut. Today: we’ll learn about some of these doors, and find out how to set the deadbolts properly. Please stay with us, as we learn how to stop the serpent in his tracks.

Some who watch movies think ghosts are “ectoplasmic energy” that can be dispersed with just the right GhostBuster technology. Here’s a reality check: ghosts are very real, but no electronics will kill them. Today: the real deal on haunted houses, ghosts, familiar spirits and other forms of demonic influence, and why Christians must shun them all like the plague.

Satan wants us to see him as having godlike powers. But God wants us to see Satan as being on a short leash. Here’s a news flash: Satan can’t trip you up on life’s road unless God gives the OK. There’s no heavenly conflict between equal powers of light and darkness – there’s just God, period.

Satan is a defeated foe, out on bail until his final sentence is carried out. In the meantime, he wants to mess up your life. Believers running life’s race face Satan’s detours every day. Understanding the devil’s tactics makes running that race of life easier. Today: we begin a study of the wily schemes of an enemy who “walks about like a roaring lion.”

The cross divides time. It divides the destinies of men and women. And the cross puts a final sentence of doom on Satan. The cross opens the way for us to run life’s race right up to heaven, leaving behind a vanquished Satan to suffer eternally in a lake of fire, a lake prepared especially for the devil and his angels. An amazing story of total victory.

The cross of Christ is the centerpiece of the human story. It is where Jesus atoned for sin and defeated Satan, our enemy. Running life’s race means reckoning with the cross on a personal basis, seeing Christ’s death as my only hope of heaven. Today: we see Satan the serpent’s doom made certain by a suffering Savior.

After Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, Satan turned his attention to stopping the future birth and death of Christ. The earth became a battlefield, with Satan as the aggressor and humanity as his victims. Sin’s tragic consequences were only beginning to emerge. Today: the sad story continues with the devil still at work, and evil seemingly in charge.

The seduction of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden began an avalanche of sin and misery. Satan had apparently won. But the story is a long way from over. Today we’ll assess the far-reaching consequences of mankind’s fall, but also learn that God, from the very beginning, had in mind a way to repair the damage.

One fundamental difference between God and Satan is that God always speaks truth, and Satan always lies. His lie to Adam and Eve is his lie to you and me. Millions are deceived into thinking they can do what they like and still somehow end up in heaven. Our job: to recognize the lies that can send people to the same hell that’s reserved for Satan.
