In the Old Testament we find the story of the Israelites complaining when all of a sudden the encounter numerous snakes inflicting deadly wounds on them. Moses, obeying what the Lord told him to do, puts up a pole with a snake on it so that all who are bitten must only look at the pole and they will be healed. Similarly, Jesus was put up on a cross so that all who look to Him and believe may be saved. As followers of Christ we are also fishers of men and therefore must tell others who have been inflicted with the deadly wound of sin nature to look to Christ, find life and be saved.
