Yo Momma

We all have things in our lives that annoy us like a constant drip of water or yapping Chihuahua.  These things can easily frustrate us to a point of losing control and lashing out.  Rather than letting these things get the best of us, we should follow Christ’s example and keep our eyes on the Lord, learning from these things whatever it is He wants to teach us.  While God does give us consequences, not every trial or struggle we face is because we’ve done something wrong.  Sometimes God just wants to use those things to teach us a lesson and bring us closer to Him.

After Birth
December 26, 2011
When Jesus came to earth as a baby born of the Virgin Mary, all of Heaven rejoiced and proclaimed, “It’s a boy!”  God had specifically planned this very moment in time as is shown by the perfect patter of the stars in the universe that at the moment Jesus was born there was a star above Him in Bethlehem so that all who saw it knew the Messiah had come.  Angels rejoiced and proclaimed this news to the shepherds.  And while this was a joyous moment in history, the story goes on to tell of Christ’s death, what He had come to earth to do to be the sacrifice on our behalf.  Because of His death and resurrection, we can accept the salvation that He now offers, be born again, and proclaim, “It’s a boy!” that now lives inside us when we are saved.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
