Before God even created the world, He had a perfect plan already in place.  That plan stretches from the beginning to the end, and we can see that plan written in Scripture.  Through Adam and Eve sin entered into the world, and with that sin came death.  Yet God’s plan was to save us from death through the sacrifice of His Son, who rose from the dead three days later.  One day Jesus will come back to call all those who are still living and are saved by His blood to Heaven, and on that day it is absolutely essential to have your name written in the Book of Life.  God’s plan from before there was time included each one of us individually by name, and He is calling each of us to Himself so that we may be saved from the destruction of this world’s end and spend eternity with our Father God who loves us more than we could ever possibly imagine.

To cut corners means to find shortcuts in your work, often affecting the quality of what you are doing.  In the Old Testament Law, God said that when harvesting a field, anything left over after the harvesting should be left in the field for the poor, widows and orphans.  It was a way for the rich to provide for the needy.  Because of this law, Ruth, who was poor and gathering the leftovers for her and Naomi, met Boaz and they end up being in the direct lineage of Christ.  God has blessed us with so much, but we tend to hold onto everything we have so tightly.  Rather than being selfish with what we have, we should share it and bless someone else.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
