We can try to make anything in life happen whether it be marrying a certain person or taking a certain job. The truth is that if it is not God’s will for our life then it will turn out to be a huge mess. The only way to know God’s will is by spending time with Him through prayer and Scripture and letting Him lead you.

Jesus says that if we follow Him and obey Him that the world will hate us. Even though there will be people who hate us, God will put someone in our lives who may hate us at first but God can use us to bring them to Him.

Whatever it is that is holding us up from stepping out in obedience needs to be put aside so that we can build our faith in God as we watch Him work and move in our lives. When we obey Him in whatever He tells us to do, He takes care of all the details and blesses our obedience.

There is a common temptation for anyone to be lazy and not develop the skills that they have. Rather than giving into this temptation, Christians are called to do everything for the glory of God. That means that God is your boss and you are to do everything as if doing it for Him.

Once you become a Christian it is as if you have a rebirth mark like a bullseye to the devil. He will come after you with temptations that he knows you will fall for. The Bible tells you that if you submit to God and resist the devil that he must flee from you.

We are all faced with the choice to deny ourselves or deny God and we must choose one or the other. Jesus died to give us life and we need to be ready and willing to proclaim Him to everyone.

Instead of dragging certain sins and securities other than Christ behind us, we need to let go and run towards Him with endurance. Nothing we can hang onto is better than the life that He offers us.

Just as an infant grows up, we are to also grow up in our relationship with God with help and nurture from other believers. This does not mean that we will not make mistakes, but progress in our lives shows growth. One day when we get to heaven we will be presented with a crown of glory that we can then turn around and lay at the feet of Jesus.

When God calls us to obedience we sometimes make excuses. No matter how legitimate an excuse may seem to us, every excuse to not obey God is a lame excuse. He is merciful to forgive and He will take care of all our needs as long as we submit to obeying Him first.

Sometimes God turns up the heat in our life by walking with us through difficult circumstances so that we can in turn become a blue flame for Him that can do some significant work in the world.

The Bible instructs us from the beginning not to steal, and yet there are seemingly small areas in each of our lives where we may steal. One area in particular is stealing from God by not tithing what is His. When we give as He instructs in Scripture He has promised to bless us and take care of us.
