Child Proof

August 11, 2010
Jesus was very clear – unless we become like children we will not see the Kingdom of God. The innocence and dependence that a child has on a parent is exactly how we must live our lives toward God. And by this example, we teach our kids how to trust in all things. And maybe, just maybe, they won’t reject church or God but even come to rely on Him because of the very thing they saw in us will show them that they can also trust in Christ.

Holy Spit

It could be that one time in your life you have gone to start your car but it wouldn’t start. Your conclusion was the battery was dead. So what do you do? You look for someone who has jumper cables to hook their car up to yours in order to get it going again. The same thing happens with us spiritually. Sometimes we need a spiritual charge from someone, or we need to be willing to help someone else who needs their dead life charged up

Holy Tear

Farmers know that they only have a small window of opportunity to gather in their crop. Too early and it is ripe or not usable. Too late and it has gone bad and rotten. They spend all year getting the ground ready, planting the seed, watering, watching, and waiting, until the exact moment to reap the harvest. Jesus said the harvest is ready, so are we going after the crop before it’s too late – both here and around the world?

Countless Lives

The question has to be asked – What is your motive? Do you have a hidden agenda, something below the surface? For most of us there is something that drives us or motivates us to reach a goal or certain level. It’s fine to be motivated toward something, but if the FIRST motivation is not to be like Christ in all things, the motivation is empty.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
