Responding To God's Will, C

September 30, 2014

We all want to know what God’s will is, right?  How many times have we had that discussion? And recently here on Real Radio we discussed just that while examining an earlier chapter: The will of God in your life. Well now we dig a little deeper and address our response to God’s will.

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

Weʼre in chapter eleven, which reveals a crude practice of eye-mutilation commonly practiced by King Nahash of Ammon. It was for the purpose of rendering his enemies, essentially useless on the battlefield. And weʼre learning how Saul was able to handle the threat under the influence of the Spirit of Almighty God.

We love to say “God is good,” or “Go is so good!” But letʼs admit it: Itʼs most often when things seem to be going our way! Yet the part of first Samuel, chapter ten that weʼre looking at sheds light on how, whatever our situation, Godʼs Word teaches us to say (to quote the classic hymn) “it is well with my soul!”

We all want to know the will of our Maker in our lives. What we donʼt always like to accept are the difficulties that the Almighty puts in our path for our growth and development in our dependence upon Him. Now Pastor Jack has asked a brother to step forward and share some of the difficulties in his life to illustrate this very point.
