Christmas: Where It All Began

December 22, 2014

Every year, it seems, we hear discussions of the so-called “true meaning of Christmas.” Yet often people engage in these conversations without Scripture!  Well, we’re about to hear Pastor Jack take us through quite a number of Bible passages that do tell the true meaning of this holiday -- starting with first Timothy three sixteen. Many New Testament scholars have determined this passage as being an early church hymn!

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

Chapter nineteen opens with Saul’s intent to have David killed -- most likely out of jealousy. Interestingly, Saul was not real good at keeping his wishes a big secret!  And because many -- including Jonathan, Saul’s son -- thought highly of David, they tipped him off on Saul’s plans.
