This weekend Pastor Dale talked about the 5th commandment, “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” While this commandment addresses family issues there are broader applications involved. The undergirding principle is HONOR. God wants us to be people of honor, people that know how to honor Him as the ultimate authority and how to honor the people He has placed in authority over us. God wants us to learn to do what is honorable in the way we exercise authority and people that know how to train our children to value honor, obedience and submission in their lives.
