Racism and the Kingdom of God

January 28, 2013

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:28

For the first ten years of my life, I grew up in a little town 30 miles north of Little Rock, Arkansas. It was the 1950s, so I was acquainted with the concept of racial prejudice. I remember days when you would go to a department store and see one water fountain that said, “Whites Only” and another one which would say, “Colored.”  I remember the days when African Americans couldn’t sit at the same restaurant lunch counter as Caucasians.

In 1970, when my father was beaten to death at his hardware store by a black man, I was confronted with my own feelings of prejudice and bigotry. But I can tell you that today, because of Jesus Christ in my life, I love extending my hand to people of all races to say, “I love you.”

Years ago, I had the privilege of introducing my friend Dr. Tony Evans to preach at a conference at the Southern Baptist Convention. Tears almost filled my eyes as I stopped and thought about how far we had come since the days of “Whites Only.” But there is still much work to be done!

Racism has no place in the Kingdom of God. In Christ, we are all one. So whenever you’re tempted to judge others based on their race, remember that God sees all of His children the same!

GOD SEES HIS CHILDREN THE SAME NO MATTER WHAT RACE THEY ARE. RID YOURSELF OF RACISM AND EMBRACE THE MULTIETHNICITY OF THE BODY OF CHRIST!

Get the best from 2012 to be your best in 2013

Dear Friend,

While many pastors shy away from addressing controversial issues, I sincerely believe you need to hear straight, “bulls-eye” biblical teaching on many of today’s hot topics. Not only to grow in your faith as a believer, but to give winsome, compassionate answers to the hard questions our culture is asking.

That’s why I want to send you a special new resource today – my CD series called The Best of 2012.

This series contains 10 of my most popular and compelling messages from 2012, and it’s a resource that’s sure to help you in 2013 because it includes messages such as, “Are All Religions the Same?”, “Lessons on Leadership,” and “What Is a Christian?”

The Best of 2012 is my gift to thank you for your donation to help PowerPoint continue to proclaim God’s Word and truth ’til the whole world hears. So please request your copy when you give today.

Thank you!
