Becoming Pure in Heart

John MacArthur: This is John MacArthur with another edition of Portraits of Grace. Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Purifying a heart is the work of the Holy Spirit, but there are some things you must do in response to his prompting. First, realize you can't purify your own heart.

Next, put your faith in Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the cross is the basis for your cleansing. Finally, study the Bible and pray. As you do so, the Spirit will continue to purify your life.

There's no greater joy than knowing you're pure before God and that your life honors him. May that joy be yours today, and may God use you powerfully for his glory. This is John MacArthur looking forward to bringing you more Portraits of Grace.
