The Wise Mens' Response: He is the King (Who is He in Yonder Stall?)

January 3, 2016

What should motivate believers in daily life?  As we mature in the faith, we come to realize more and more that it’s not about us. It’s about God.  His glory fills the earth and the heavens. When we see our lives as part of a much larger plan, we understand that giving God glory is what life is all about.

Many families have prodigal sons or daughters who’ve left home in rebellion against their parents’ values. The heartache is acute as moms and dads wonder where their children are and if they’re safe. These “prodigals” desperately need to come home, but sadly, not all do.

Maintaining a clear conscience is not what the devil has in mind for the children of God. He tells lies to get us back into the bondage of having a defiled conscience. How can we combat those lies and walk in victory?

Once you’ve given up your bitterness against someone else, how do you repair the breach in your relationship? Many of us live in a tangled web of hurt and alienation, and somehow bridges need to be rebuilt to make things right.

It’s like a cancer that spreads everywhere in the body. Bitterness can destroy your joy and make you quite unpleasant to be around. We must uncover the roots of bitterness so we can uproot it from our lives for good.

For centuries after the church’s founding, a key doctrine was forgotten, one that gives hope to the hopeless and life to the spiritually dead. That doctrine is justification by faith, rediscovered by Martin Luther in the 1500s.
