In the Greek language, love is understood several ways. For instance, if you were to use the Greek word, phileo, you would be talking about a give-and-take kind of love, where both parties benefit from the relationship. Agape, on the other hand, is a giving love that doesn’t always see a return. It’s also how the Bible calls us to love others. Now that can sometimes be a tall order to love others in this way.
