In this insecure world of ours, we're always trying to build up our confidence. Check out some of these motivational one-liners. "Always act like you're wearing an invisible crown." Or, "If you are going to doubt something, doubt your limits." And of course my favorite is Al Franken's character, Stuart Smalley, when he said, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!" Yes, we want to build our confidence. But as Pastor Steve points out today, real confidence comes from a dependence on the Lord. That's what's clearly seen in the lives of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three men who firmly stood for righteousness, even in the face of death.
