Believer's lives are to be characterized by God's character in all matters of life and the most menial and practical areas of life. In this section Paul addresses the responsibility believers have to people who are not in the family of God, and in particular, cause difficulty and trouble. There is appropriate behavior and responses God expects from believers in their contact and relationships with unbelievers. Even in situations where there is harsh and unfair treatment there is no warrant for retaliation in kind or seeking vengeance. God knows and has the matter in hand, controlling the extent of the circumstances and consequences, and He will bring their actions under His judgment.
