Our current series taken from the book of 2nd Timothy is called "Handing Off the Heritage". The process of mentoring is key to this practice. The word "mentor" suggests the transferring of experience or knowledge from an older person, to one who is at the beginning of a career or ministry. Such was the case with Paul and Timothy. On Hope For Today, Riverside teaching pastor Jim Shaddix, concludes the message "Multiplying the Ministry", and underscores the importance of not only conveying the right doctrine and theology, but also conveying it to those who have been proven trustworthy.
Marriage…. It is, and has been a foundational part of civilized cultures all over the world. But, in case you hadn’t yet heard, traditional marriage has become a very politicized subject, with many special interest groups attempting to push their definition of marriage.
In 2006, Pastor Jim, preached a series of messages on marriage entitled, “The Mystery of Marriage”. No, this was NOT a commentary on the current political quagmire, but instead, a biblical review of the origins and significance of marriage. Based in Ephesians, “The Mystery of Marriage” looks at God’s purposes for marriage, the roles and responsibilities for men and women in marriage, and finally, the impact of culture’s attempts to re-define marriage.
So, whether you’re a newlywed, a marriage veteran of many years, or you are just now contemplating marriage, you’ll benefit greatly in hearing this biblical blueprint for the realities and issues of marriage. Join us for “The Mystery of Marriage”.
