In the second chapter of 2nd Timothy, Paul's counsel to Timothy was to endure these pitfalls through self-denial, discipline, and diligence. Using military, athletic, and agricultural metaphors, Paul illustrates the worthiness in keeping our focus where it belongs...on Jesus Christ.
