Yesterday, we began a brand new series based on the intentional process of making disciples of Jesus Christ. The first division of this series looks at the way we gather for His worship. In the first message entitled "Hearing God", teaching pastor Jim Shaddix began an examination of the worship offered up to God, and what’s really behind it. And no, we’re not focusing on the musical portion of the modern day worship service. Referencing the book of Nehemiah, Jim looks at an example of God’s people rediscovering of the role of His word in worship. Thanks for joining us here at Hope For Today on OnePlace.
Marriage…. It is, and has been a foundational part of civilized cultures all over the world. But, in case you hadn’t yet heard, traditional marriage has become a very politicized subject, with many special interest groups attempting to push their definition of marriage.
In 2006, Pastor Jim, preached a series of messages on marriage entitled, “The Mystery of Marriage”. No, this was NOT a commentary on the current political quagmire, but instead, a biblical review of the origins and significance of marriage. Based in Ephesians, “The Mystery of Marriage” looks at God’s purposes for marriage, the roles and responsibilities for men and women in marriage, and finally, the impact of culture’s attempts to re-define marriage.
So, whether you’re a newlywed, a marriage veteran of many years, or you are just now contemplating marriage, you’ll benefit greatly in hearing this biblical blueprint for the realities and issues of marriage. Join us for “The Mystery of Marriage”.
